As an Admin, I want to define the main settings for my site so I can control it in every aspect.

Acceptance Criteria

Access

Access Site Settings from the three dots menu on My Site, or the home document three dots options menu and in the avatar menu.

My Site's three-dot options menu items are Site Settings and All documents.

Site Settings has its own section.

Navigation Bar management is part of the settings section.

Identity tab

User can edit the site name via a text input field

User can upload a site logo (YIDps height, JPG or PNG) and see a live preview

User can upload a home cover image (1600 × 400px)

A "Save" button persists all changes

Navigation tab

User can add navigation items that appear in the site's header top bar

Header site preview updates in real time as items are added/removed

Each nav item can be deleted (via x icon)

"+ Add navigation item" opens a modal with fields: Item name (shown in top bar) and Link name (auto-generates URL slug)

User can configure Header layout (Horizontal dropdown) and Content Width (Large dropdown)

User can toggle "Set publication site day" and "Show activity tabs"

User can define basic site appearance like mode and site font style

A "Save" button persists all changes

Members tab

Site visibility toggle: Private (default) / Public

Filter tabs: All, Members, Writers, Subscribers (with counts)

Member list displays: avatar, name, role badge, email, and permission level (Owner / Can edit / Can read)

Permission can be changed via dropdown per member

Members can be removed (via x icon)

"Invite collaborators" section allows adding new people (expandable) → in the future

Basic Flow

User opens Site Settings (from sidebar, home 3 dots or avatar options)

Lands on the Identity tab by default

Edits site name, uploads logo/cover image → clicks Save

Navigates to Navigation tab via sidebar

Clicks "+ Add navigation item" → modal appears

Enters Item name → Link name auto-populates with URL-friendly slug

Clicks "Add Item" → item appears in the list and header preview

Adjusts Header layout / Content Width / toggles → clicks Save

Navigates to Members tab

Sets site visibility (Private/Public)

Reviews existing members, adjusts permissions via dropdown

Edge cases

Logo upload exceeds file size or wrong format — Error toast; upload rejected giving indications

Cover image wrong dimensions — Image is cropped/scaled to 1600×400

Duplicate navigation item name — Allow (names aren't unique identifiers), but warn if link slug collides

Navigation link name contains special characters — Auto-sanitize to URL-safe slug

Max navigation items reached (6) — '+ Add navigation item' disabled with tooltip explaining limit (We don't allow weird behaviour of the navigation as we do now)

User admin can not remove himself from members or downgrade their own role

Public to Private toggle with external links shared — Confirmation dialog: 'Existing shared links will stop working'

Unsaved changes + user navigates away (tab switch) — Prompt: 'You have unsaved changes. Discard?'

Network failure on Save — Retry-able error toast; form state preserved

Invite sent to already-pending member is shown

Other observations

Admin controls main site settings such as show activity tabs, or Content Width so we can delete document settings from each document





Editors can add cover image to documents that can be added individually on each document by this user story already defined months ago

The user can change the cover image when creating the document draft and from the opened version

Remove the icon option, logo and cover in the homepage is enough. Cover image it is enough for other documents.
